I want to briefly define the terms "virus" and "trojan Horse" VIRUS-string of malicious commands and data that when uploaded into a computer causes damage and mass data loss. TROJAN HORSE: Program that is used to hack into another person's computer without their knowledge or consent. common Questions and answers Q. My computer is infected with a virus how can I remove it ?? A.Viruses can be removed a various number of ways. My favorite way to remove a virus is by using the McAfee antivirus Virus Scanner's emergency diskette. Q. How can I remove a trojan horse?? A. Download a program called "win Cleaner" off of the internet and save it to your desktop. Win cleaner is about 120k in size. Q. Can a virus be resident in the memory of my computer and not cause any harm to my computer?? A. Yes. Some viruses are "stealth" or invisible menaing they show no significant sign that they are in the memory of the computer . Q. How can I avoid getting a virus?? A. AlWAYS download files from websites you trust. MYTHS AND FACTS about viruses and trojan horses. Myth: I have five virus scanners, 2 firewalls, patches, and no internet, there is no possible way I can get a virus. Fact. It doesn't matter how many virus scanners, firewalls, etc. you have, you can still get a virus. Myth: Trojan horses do no harm to my computer. Fact. Trojan horses can crash your computer, and cause you to lose information. Myth: There are only several viruses in existence today. Fact. There are over 150,000 viruses in existence today. How can "back orfice" be removed?? A. Back orfice can be easily removed by a variety of programs including BO shield, liberator, win cleaner, and f-prot virus scanners , just to name a few. Q. How mant trojan horses are in existence today??
